THE ORGANIZATION STRUCTURES are changing fast with a lot of new technical developments happening around. As more millennial are entering the work force, managers are required to be equally aware and resourceful. With the addition of demographic dividend in each structural level of the economy, the challenge to organize and efficiently draw parallel with other successful organization has become an important task. So here is the growth hack as how can we manage & track employees effectively.
Understanding the needs
One of the foremost jobs of any manager is to understand needs of the employees in advance. This task requires the manager to guess on the project and continuously follow its development. As one follows the development of the project on regular basis, he can easily predict the future needs.
Filling gaps in the communication
Communication skills don’t necessarily mean the proficiency in the language. This is the main difference which most of the managers fail to understand. An average manager may concentrate on improving his and immediate employee’s English knowledge. But a great manager will naturally focus on improving the channels that are becoming the hindrance in the feedback system. The art of listening will play a crucial role in the success.
Incentives matters.
The motivation is a great feed to a wandering suspicious mind. One of the most important ways to motivate employees is by providing appropriate incentives to them. Now again, there are different kinds of incentives which we can give to employees but the most effective and the one which gets you the immediate results is the monetary incentives. It may not be possible to incentivize the team on every possible achievement. But certainly, it doesn’t take much efforts to appreciate the efforts.
Breaking alliances & making alliances
Office politics could be the important aspect of behavioral tendencies of some of the employees. One of the important ways to achieve goals, in that case, is to break shady alliances that could further the goal. As a manager, your job is to neutralize the alliances which give bad signals to the project completion. The best way in this scenario is to make sure that alliances are only established for achieving goals.
Emotional intelligence
Emotional intelligence has four main aspects. First one is to observe the emotions of your own. Second thing is to act intelligently keeping the continuous track of your own emotions. For e.g. when you are angry it is important to realize that you are actually in that state of emotion. It is advisable that one should not take any decision unless he is in full calm and composer state. Third would be observing the emotions of your peers. And finally making them realize that they are in particular state of emotion.
Listening to the ideas
No one can stop the idea whose time has come. So it is important for the manager to keenly give attention to the idea. The manager can’t ignore the idea only because it is coming from particular section or particular employee placed lower in the hierarchy. He needs to adapt and act accordingly. This not only helps the employees but also the management. There is a high tendency that employees will feel themselves as an important part of the organization and in turn contribute heavily.
You can bend the rules but not break it
A manager is a cornerstone of any organization. Employees will follow the manager who leads by example. The higher the flexibility, the higher will be efficiency. So for the sometime manager may bend the rules for getting desired outcomes but not necessarily break the rules.`
Use of biometric attendance system
Biometric attendance system can play a crucial role bringing structured results in employee management. With the use of biometric management, we can streamline the data and can pipeline the best available sources to particular projects. Employees with the highest performance in terms of project and attendance can be segregated to provide best results.
Fueling creativity and innovation
Organizations success is dependent on its creative hand. Creativity comes with stability and stability comes with discipline. It is important for the manager to teach its employee about creativity approach. A manager should be willing to implement the ideas which are creative and innovative. Google’s 20 percent rule helped them to fuel creative approach in the organization. We shouldn’t be hesitant to the idea of an employee who wants to take a different path.
In the end, it is the manager who has to make decisions. The decisions taken in good interest may sound wrong in the short turn, but in long run, they will be useful for the growth of the organization. A constant hunt for new things, new products, and new technologies can only keep the manager in the race.
The race to the mountain starts with being attentive and informative with the things happening around. Culminating the art of finding and retaining talent should be brick work any organization. It is the right talent harnessed at a right time only fetches the healthy dividends.
The managers around the organization will have to understand that every employee is a living soul who may have some intrinsic aims. The job of the manager is to align these aims with company values and get the desired outcomes.
